I
walked them through my mermaid reveries,
Withstanding
the tone of their infinite vagaries
Right!
Worthlessly
they snapped
Whatever
you say
The words
were capped,
Horsepucky!
Cried girls
from Kentucky,
Some
silent hmm-s and reliefs
On
my unstable Utopian beliefs
Well,
in case you’re ready with your crusade,
They've already stolen my mermaid.

The Ultimate Question-
Are you on your way to steal my mermaid?
Your rhyming scheme is awesome. I really dug this.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lance. Glad to know
DeleteDon't listen to those nasty voices, just keep swimming.
ReplyDeleteThis just flowed, such a pretty piece.
Swim I shall

ReplyDeleteThat was my first try with this rhyming scheme. Glad you liked :)
DeleteIt's not easy rhyming with "Kentucky" either!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I tried the inverse actually. 'Hosepucky' came to me before 'Kentucky'
DeleteOh, yeah, I love the rhyme scheme, too. I think this is my favorite line: "unstable Utopian beliefs"--definitely brings me over to the speaker's side!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer. I did not have to give much thought over that line. It just fitted well the first time. Worked, I guess!
